The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation, supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. It is registered in the USA as an International Charitable Trust. The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Its motto is simply

“Doing Good in the World”

All Clubs are urged to be involved in humanitarian projects overseas in one of The Rotary Foundation’s six key focus areas:
• Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
• Disease prevention and treatment
• Water and sanitation
• Maternal and child health
• Basic education and literacy
• Economic and community development.

Rotary Club of Hamilton Central goals for the 2016/17 year:

  1. Club Contribution to Foundation Annual Giving – $2500
  2. Club Contribution to PolioPlus – $2500
  3. Centurion Donations – at least 16 members
  4. Present at at least one meeting on work of Foundation
  5. Investigate combining with another Hamilton Club to work on a Pacific Islands project 2016/17
  6. Qualify for District Grant for 2017/18
  7. Investigate an overseas project for Hamilton Central for 2017/18
